PRESIDENT
Marco has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from California State University, Sacramento. He began his business career with Principal Financial Group in 1991 where he continues to serve as a Senior Financial Representative. Marco has dedicated himself to contributing to his community through various non-profit organizations.
Carolina Rojas-Gore
VICE PRESIDENT
Carolina Rojas-Gore is the owner of Gore Public Relations, specializing in promotions, Spanish translations, Voice Overs and event planning. She served as Director of Community Empowerment of Univision Channel 19 for thirteen years. Prior to joining Univision in 2004, Carolina successfully worked in the area of Human Resources for several years and was certified in Human Resources Management by U.C. Davis Extension.
In addition to her expertise in media and fundraising, she is passionate about education and promoting the traditions and culture of Mexico. Toward that end, she has served on the Board of Directors and is two-term President of the Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California. She is still a very active member and continues to provide leadership for the organization.
Carolina has clearly demonstrated her commitment and willingness to serve the Sacramento community. Throughout the years she has embraced and been actively engaged in several organizations. These include: Anchor and Co-Producer of Vistas Community Program; Board of Directors of the Sacramento YMCA; Board of Directors of Bishop Gallegos Memorial; and, Member of the Parish Council of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Carolina also served several terms on the Board of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. During her tenure, she chaired the 23rd Annual Installation Dinner as well as the Cultural Arts Committee.
While working at Univision, Carolina was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Sacramento County Fair Board of Directors. She also served on California Senator Darryl Steinberg’s Hispanic Advisory Committee and the Center for Aids Research Education and Services (CARES) Hispanic Advisory Board. She is also one of the original members of the Community Engagement Committee of UC Davis’ Center for Reducing Health Disparities.
Carolina’s talent and work have been recognized by the community and her peers. She was awarded the coveted 2015-2016 Northern California Area Emmy® Award for Outstanding Achievement as Executive Producer of her Community/Public Service PSA. She received the 2007 Outstanding Woman Leader from the National Association of Women Business Owners. In 2011 she received the Molina Champions Award, and in 2013 the Leadership in Advocacy Award. She was recognized with The Spirit of Latina Award from the Latino Journal and Café de California in 2016. Finally, she was recognized by the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2019 and identified as an ”Estrella” for truly being a “star” in the community.
Her outstanding work and tireless efforts for the community have been memorialized by Resolutions from both the California State Senate and the California Assembly.
Fernando Ortiz
SECRETARY
A graduate of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico City, Fernando holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He completed all course work towards a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from CSUS. Fernando has been the President of Elevator Controls Corporation for 35 years.
Fernando’s community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for two terms. Other involvement includes serving as coach for the Fruitridge Youth Soccer League for several years.
Eva González

Eva was a Branch Manager for F&M Bank, she has been in the Sacramento area since 1992. Since that time she has been very involved in the community. She is passionate about helping others and this has lead her to be involved in many non-profit organizations. She has served on many boards which she has enjoyed and is currently enjoying the MCCNC Board for the contributions it makes in promoting our traditions in the community.
Gloria González

Community Volunteer, Mentor
Gloria graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Fresno. After graduation, she worked as a rehabilitation counselor and later as a case manager for at risk youth in San Diego. While in San Diego she also served as treasurer on the board of the North County Latinas Association whose mission was to empower young Latinas through education and mentoring. She received a proclamation from the US House of Representatives for her leadership and work with young Latinas.
In Sacramento, her role at California State University Sacramento included the full range of community, student, faculty and development activities. With the assistance of staff and students, she began the Women’s Mentoring Conference to bring female students and professional women together.
Being involved and providing service to the community have always been one of Gloria’s core values. In her words: “My community service experience has been gratifying and has given me the opportunity to meet many remarkable and altruistic people.”

Omar Gonzalez, A Law Corporation
Mr. Gonzalez earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from California State University, Sacramento and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. He is the founder of Omar Gonzalez, A Law Corporation, a California professional law corporation. Mr. Gonzalez began his legal career as a corporate attorney specializing in M&A and securities with a large Silicon Valley-based law firm. Mr. Gonzalez later opened his own practice switching his emphasis from corporate transactional work to personal injury/wrongful death and workers’ compensation litigation. Mr. Gonzalez is fluent and literate in English and academic Spanish and is a member of numerous local and statewide professional and charitable organizations along with being a regular participant in several local charity events.

Juan graduated from Chico State University. He holds a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Financial Management. His expertise is implementing strategic planning and investments. Formerly a Financial Consultant of Whitehall Parker Securities Inc., Juan has the necessary vision of bringing funds to the MCCNC. His financial experience is a great asset to the Board of Directors.
Anna Padilla-Márquez

Anna is a marketing and media professional with more than 12 years of experience in Hispanic, sports and social impact campaigns. She is skilled in integrated, social and digital marketing, advertising, sales, community engagement and fostering client and stakeholder relationships. She has a B.A. in media and journalism studies from California State University at Monterey Bay and a Graduate Certificate in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. She is currently a fellow for the Nueva Epoca Leadership program in Sacramento. In her free time, Anna enjoys giving back to her local community and spending time with her family.

Gustavo supervises a team of attorneys that provides legal advice to the Community Development Department and the Police Department. This work includes overseeing the criminal prosecution of all City code infractions and misdemeanors, partnering with Problem Oriented Policing teams to combat criminal and social nuisance activity, and working with the Justice for Neighbors program to address the City’s worst-of-the-worst nuisances and security threats to the City’s neighborhoods. Gustavo is active in local charitable and professional groups having served as a board member of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and is a present member of the Cruz Reynoso Lawyers Association, St. Thomas More Society, and the California District Attorney’s Association.
Alejandro Cabrera

Alejandro Cabrera was born in Los Angeles, CA, but moved to the country of Mexico as an infant, where he lived for seventeen years before immigrating back to the United States in 2003. Raised in Colotlan Jalisco, a small artisan and farming town in Mexico, he grew up helping his grandfather grow produce and run a small convenient store. Alejandro joined the United States Air Force in 2007 where he served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Bagram, Afghanistan, and a counter drug operations effort in Manta, Ecuador. He graduated in 2014 with a BA in International Relations from Sacramento State University, and in 2014 he earned his Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Southern California.
Since he graduated from Sacramento State, he has been working in the Office of Councilmember Eric Guerra performing policy, public media, and community relations work. Alejandro worked closely with the Cruz Reynoso Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Sacramento Chapter, University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation, and local CBOs in the allocation of public dollars, development, and implementation of a legal defense program for Sacramento families phasing risk of deportation.
Alejandro served in the Stockton Boulevard Partnership Business Improvement District, on behalf of Councilmember Eric Guerra, where he worked with property and business owners along Stockton Boulevard to address economic development needs, investment, image, and maintenance of the commercial corridor.
He works with community and business stakeholders like the Latino Economic Council of Sacramento to inform on governance protocols and policy initiatives related to economic development and education.
