Our Mission

The mission of the Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California (MCCNC) is to enrich the Sacramento and Northern California communities through education, entertainment and outreach activities that preserve Mexican heritage by fostering the cultural, artistic and historical legacy of Mexico.

The MCCNC also conducts an annual Scholarship Awards competition, makes an annual “Artist of the Year” award, produces an annual Local Arts Exhibit, and supports local nonprofit artist groups through modest awards to showcase some of Mexico’s finest artists at local Sacramento venues, such as Southside Park, the Crest Theatre, Memorial Auditorium, the Crocker Art Gallery, the California Women’s Museum and the Sacramento Airport. As well, the MCCNC has annual events conducted at Sutter’s Fort Historical State Park and the California State Capitol Building.

The MCCNC hosts, helps to promote and supports annual community events. These include the: MCCNC Annual Gala, Día de Los Muertos, Día de La Bandera, Reina Fiestas Patrias, and El Grito de Independencia.
