Nuestra Historia

Three decades of celebrating our roots.

Since 1992, the Mexican Cultural Center of Northern California has worked to share and preserve our region's unique Mexican heritage, and to pass it on to the next generation.

Where We Started

Founded in 1992, by the community, for the community.

The MCCNC was established in 1992 by a group of distinguished Hispanic leaders from the Sacramento community, united by an energetic interest in maintaining and sharing the culture of Mexico.

In its earliest days, the cultural center was financially subsidized by Mexico to implement curriculums that promote Mexican culture within the jurisdiction established for the Mexican General Consulate of Sacramento in Northern California. From that foundation, a lasting community institution took root.

Our Ongoing Mission

Culture, carried into every corner of the community.

Since 1992, the MCCNC has presented artistic and cultural educational programs throughout our community's public venues, from school classrooms and community art galleries to civic arenas and local auditoriums. Alongside them, we support our young people by awarding annual scholarships.

As a 501(c)(3), the MCCNC has achieved positive results within the community, earning great support from the cultural, arts, and community agencies of Northern California. That support has allowed us to keep offering arts, culture, and educational programs, and to help others do the same. Our Board of Directors is proud of what has been accomplished, and looks forward to continuing its contributions to the enrichment and promotion of Mexican arts and cultural traditions throughout Northern California.
